Pennsville Premier Cinema Theatre
Building Fire 11-20-07
On 11-20-07 at 0703 hrs. Salem County 9-1-1 Center
alerted Station 7 (Deepwater), Station 5 (Pennsville), Rescue 11
(Carneys Point), Engine 4 (Pennsgrove), Fast Team 12 (Reliance), NCC
Rescue 20 (Holloway Terrace), and Squad 5 (Pennsville) to 251
N. Broadway at the Premier Cinema for a report working building fire.
7-10 (Chief M. Ayares) arrived at 0707 hrs. and established Broadway
Command reporting light smoke showing from the building. 7-1 and 12-7
responded at 0707 hrs. also with 7-1 arriving at 0710 hrs. Ladder 5-6
arrived at 0713 hrs. and set up for roof access to take care of the
small amount of fire that had made its way into the roof area. The
remaining equipment and man power was put to work as they arrived and
the fire was contained to the room of origin and a small corner of the
roof. The situation was placed under control at 0741 hrs. with units
working doing overhaul and clearing the smoke from the large theatre
portion of the building. Pennsville PD was on location doing an arson
investigation since the fire was deemed suspicious with the building be
abandoned. The last units cleared the scene at 0910 hrs. Units on scene
were 7-1, 7-2, 5-6, 5-9, 5-8, 12-7, NCC Rescue 20, 11-9, 4-1, GC 1811,
GC 1816, and Pennsville PD.
